The Brewers have been scuffling June and now they have to take on one of the best teams in the National League in the New York Mets. Can Milwaukee get back on track or will the Mets continue to roll behind Chris Bassitt and Pete Alonso? Let’s break it down.
ANALYSIS

New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction: Look for Chris Bassitt and Pete Alonso to Lead the Mets

Milwaukee has really been struggling over the past few weeks, mainly due to their extremely streaky and anemic offense. The Brewers have also had a ton of injuries to some key pieces in their lineup with guys like Renfroe, Adames, and Urias all missing significant time. Here is my prediction, pick, and the odds for Mets vs Brewers.

New York Mets vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

The Brewers have largely been carried by their pitching staff and superb bullpen over the last two seasons but their pitching has been letting them down lately. In their series against the Nationals, they allowed 11 and 8 runs in the first two games, respectively, and their offense is simply not built to compete in slugfests like that. Their series finale against the Nationals is much more on par for what the Brewers want to do to their opponents as their staff held the Nationals down and they closed the series on a high note with a 4-1 win. This win broke an eight-game losing streak for the Brewers, so the main question for tonight’s game will be can they continue that momentum or will we see that anemic offense again?

I think the answer is the latter.

I fully expect Chris Bassitt to have a bounce-back start tonight against a below-average Brewers offense. Bassitt is a true gamer and while he usually allows a decent amount of base runners, he is excellent at getting out of jams and bearing down when need be. The Mets have also been a powerhouse at home this season as they come into tonight’s game with a 19-8 home record which is one of the best in the league.

Tonight, the Mets offense will face Adrian Houser, who I believe is due for some negative regression in a big way. Houser comes into this game with a solid 3.92 ERA but a WHIP of 1.40. This tells me that Houser has been a magician at getting out of jams this season and I am not sure that is going to continue against this patient but dangerous Mets offense. The Mets are number one in the league in runs scored, batting average, and overall on-base percentage, so they have done a great job of getting guys on base and driving them in.

With that being said, I am rolling with Mets F5 ML at -154 and Full Game ML at -142 for 1U each as my most confident MLB Picks of the night.
