St. Louis Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction
I cannot stress this enough, make sure you take this bet for game 2 with Miles Mikolas and Bryse Wilson on the mound! The game starts at 7:45 EST. Now that we’ve addressed that, let's get into the bet. I was picking between just picking on Wilson or picking on him and trusting Mikolas too and I think Mikolas pitches a fine game. I understand his one game against them this year he allowed two earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched but that was the first start of the year after a short Sprint Training, since then he has gotten into a bit of a groove and should be pitching better tonight.
The main reason we are on this prop is that Bryse Wilson is walking batting practice. The man holds an impressively bad 7.53 ERA and is especially bad against St Louis. Against the Cards this year we have seen Wilson allow 10 runs in 5.2 innings pitched. That means he has a 15.88 ERA against them on the year, it doesn’t take a mathematician to come to the result of that not being very good. Cardinals players have 39 at-bats against Wilson throughout their careers and have turned that into 19 hits. That is a .487 batting average, that is just wild. It's not mentioned how he walks a batter every two innings! This should be another long day and all we need is to lead by one after five innings.
Mikolas has cooled down since his hot start to the season but still holds less than a three ERA and faces a Pirates team that hits righties at a .221 clip. Miles will more than likely allow a run or two but I like St Louis to score 3+ off of Wilson. This game being 3-2 after five innings would be a disappointment in many ways to Cardinals fans but it would still cash our bet. Bryse Wilson is in the Hall Of Fame of players you need to bet against, who am I not to respect a legend? I suppose we should wait until official lineups are out after game 1 but I’m scared of line movement, let's risk it for the biscuit.
