Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles Prediction

I always love the value of these props. We’re getting near even money on a pitcher for a team who is a -280 favorite tonight. Berrios' stats are bad, I’m not gonna dance around the fact that he has an abysmal 4.73 ERA. With that being said though, he has been better as of late. He has recorded a win in his last two starts and has pitched 15 innings allowing just 3 runs in this short span. He doesn’t look as dominant as he once has but he is still due positive regression and should end the year in the high threes or low fours. He has a win in 5/12 games which doesn’t jump off the page but he plays Baltimore tonight with a pitcher who throws absolute meatballs.

On the mound for Baltimore is none other than Bruce Zimmerman. The 27-year-old lefty has a 5.52 ERA and an even worse 6.89 road ERA. Zimmerman has allowed four or more runs in five straight games, that has to be demoralizing for him and he doesn’t catch a break today. Toronto hits a whopping .271 against lefties, Bruce is about to get absolutely knocked around tonight. Berrios doesn't even need his best stuff, he just needs to go 5 innings and get his offense to give him support which they certainly should. Toronto just lost to Baltimore yesterday which makes me like this bet, even more, no way they lose two in a row.

Jose Berrios at home only has a 3.00 ERA which is much more respectable and holds a 3-0 record in five starts, Baltimore is his easiest competition yet. Baltimore hits .230 against righties but especially has a bad history vs Berrios. In 51 plate appearances, these bats only have 4 RBI which is good for one RBI every 12.75 at-bats. Zimmerman has one start against Toronto and he couldn’t even complete one inning before being shelled for 3 runs. He allowed more runs than he recorded outs, not ideal for him. Toronto is the better team and Berrios has looked improved as of late. This feels like a no-brainer and is probably a bit I would play with the juice so getting it for such reasonable odds feels like a no-brainer.
