Orioles vs. Rays Line Movement

Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays Prediction

In his last start against the Twins, Baz looked very solid through his first 2 innings but then lost his control in the 3rd inning as he walked 3 hitters and then gave up a grand slam to Luis Arraez which was the biggest blow of the game. Tonight Baz will face an Orioles squad who comes into this game feeling pretty good about themselves after roughing up Kevin Gausman yesterday afternoon as they blew out the Blue Jays in the series finale as nearly +250 underdogs.

Baz only has 15 innings under his belt in the big leagues, but last year he flashed some really electric stuff. He runs his fastball up there at between 94-97 MPH and has some really sharp breaking stuff. Command wasn’t much of an issue for him last season as he only walked 3 hitters in just over 13 innings so I have to think his last start against the Twins was just an anomaly. So the main question for tonight’s game is, Will Baz bounce back, or will the Orioles bats continue to stay hot? And I believe the answer is a bounce-back spot from Baz.

The Orioles have been a tricky team to handicap this season as they are starting to get better, but I think this is a regression spot for them. Dean Kramer takes the hill for the Orioles and I believe the Rays should be able to get to him early and often. Kramer gave up a 3 run homer to the Guardians in his first start of the season and has been fairly solid since then, but has pitched around a lot of traffic.

Kramer comes into this game with a 1.30 WHIP so I believe the Rays will be able to get guys on base and hopefully be able to get those key hits to drive runners in. I also fully expect a solid start from Baz in this spot. The Orioles can strike out a lot at times and Baz has the stuff to keep them at bay.

The Rays also have a great track record of performing well against the Orioles in Camden Yards and I think that successful track record should give the team a boost tonight as they are coming off getting swept by the Yankees. With that being said, I am rolling with Rays F5 ML at -143 and Full Game ML at -140 for 1U each as my most confident MLB Picks of the night.
