Cubs vs. Braves Line Movement

Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves Prediction

The Atlanta Braves battle the Chicago Cubs taking place on Friday afternoon from the famous Wrigley Field. The Braves enter play as the hottest team in the majors, winning fourteen games in a row. The Cubs have had a long season and would love to turn the tide with a win today over the red-hot Braves.

The Cubs knew this would be a tough year coming into the season. The Cubs moved on from the core pieces that led them to a World Series ring. Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, and Javier Baez were all moved last season. This put the Cubs in a full rebuild mode. The Cubs now have a few pieces that they could move around the trade deadline. Wilson Contreas is one of those pieces that teams will be calling about.

The Braves are fresh off a World Series ring and will look to run that back this season. They fell into a big hole starting the year well under the .500 mark, but the recent run has put them in a good position. They are now in the playoffs as a Wild Card if their season ended today. The NL East looks like one of the better divisions in baseball, with the Mets leading the division and the Phillies getting hot as of late. This should be a good one today.

I am backing the Cubs today on the run line. I know this is a scary play, and a lot of people are wondering why I would fade the team who won fourteen straight games. That’s a fair question, but I think this line is suggesting the Cubs today.

I actually give the Cubs the edge on the mound today. Charlie Morton gets the ball for the Braves today, and he has struggled mightily this year. Keegan Thompson has been really solid for the Cubs this year, sporting an ERA of 3.67. I think he will go deep into this game today and limit this Braves team. I am fading the world and taking the Cubs today.
