DK has the double result listed at -145, but we’re not paying that when we get add them to score 2 puny runs and get a better number. The Dodgers are -285 favorites for a reason. The only way the double result hits without them scoring 2 runs is a 1-0 final with an early run, the odds of that are so unlikely. This feels like a game Kershaw looks like himself coming back from injury and the Dodgers bats help him out with some run support. Kershaw may be a 34 year old man now but the lefty is still absolutely dealing this season with a cool 2.12 ERA, the man won’t stop being elite.
The Guardians are no slouches but they do struggle against left-handed pitching more than right-handed. Against lefties they bat .238 as opposed to righties they hit at a .256 clip. Kershaw isn’t your average everyday lefty, so I imagine that number goes down today and he is dealing.
Against Kershaw these bats have a lifetime 4-37. Not to mention only one walk so this team has a .108 average against him in this short sample size. Kershaw just needs to hold a lead after five innings and we need the bullpen to not lose this game for us. The Dodgers bullpen ranks the 8th best in the league so I would hope that they don't sell us here.
On the mound for Cleveland is Zack Plesac. He has a 4.70 ERA and should get hit pretty hard today. The Dodgers have a star-studded lineup and hit righties better than lefties. Plesac has allowed multiple runs in 7 of his last 8 games and if we see vintage Kershaw I like our chances of getting an early lead and not looking back.
The Dodgers are 19-10 at home and will be hungry for that 20th home win and to join the 40 win club on the season. Kershaw owns the bats and has looked spectacular, Cleveland is throwing out the most hittable pitcher arguably on their team and the game is in LA. Lead after 5 innings, score 2 runs, win the game. Lets do this!
