Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels Prediction
The Los Angeles Angels battle the Seattle Mariners taking place from Seattle on Friday night for game two of this four-game divisional series. The Angels cold run has been well documented as they lost fourteen games in a row and took themselves out of a playoff position. The Angels will need to heat up quickly to put that cold run in the rear view mirror.
The Angels responded with a game-one win last night, led by a strong outing by the reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani has looked great in his last two starts, which is an encouraging sign for this LA team.
The Mariners have had a disappointing season in their own right. This team nearly came out of nowhere last year to make the playoffs but lost in the season's final game. Many people thought that they got better in the off-season as they added a pair of All-Stars last season Jessie Winker and Adam Frazier. They also landed reigning Cy Young award winner Robbie Ray and had young stars Julio Rodriguez and Jared Kelenic coming up from the minor leagues. Things have not gone their way so far, but they are well aware that this is a long season, and they will have a chance to make some noise. They send Robbie Ray to the mound tonight looking to get a game two win and even this series.
I am backing the Mariners on the first five moneyline tonight. I love this bounce-back spot for Seattle, a team that I believe is much better than their record indicates.
Ray has not been all that sharp this year, but I believe this is the beginning of his turnaround tonight. He has some of the best stuff in the league, and this is an Angels lineup that only has a few guys that can really hurt you. I expect him to take care of them tonight. The Angels send Michael Lorenzen to the bump, who has been solid this year, but I think Seattle can get to him early for a few runs. Let’s stay hot on the diamond tonight!
