St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox Best Bet: Will Nolan Arenado Lift Cardinals to Victory on Saturday?

Well guys I have not really been doing too much on the diamond here these last few days. I have the blinders on. It is U.S. Open weekend. I like to be really dialed in when I attack full MLB boards, so knowing I have missed the last few days, I wanted to take it light this evening as there is not a lot I am too crazy about. We will get back into the full swing of things here in the next day or two as the tournament ends but for now I just want to get after a value play on my guys tonight.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox Prediction

The St. Louis Cardinals are in Boston for Game 2 of their weekend showdown with their foes from multiple World Series matchups before. The Red Sox took Game 1 of the series despite a late push from the Birds in the ninth that fell just one run short.

Dakota Hudson has been beyond solid up to this point in the season and his last few starts have been trending in the right direction. He is 4-3 on the season, sporting a 3.29 ERA with much more experience than his counterpart tonight, Kutter Crawford. Crawford is coming off his best start of the season in which he went five innings, walking four batters and allowing zero runs. But, he also threw the most pitches he has all season and is still sporting a 5.75 ERA through 15 2/3 innings of work this season.

Boston has the bats but they have not been that loud as of late and are facing a motivated, confident Hudson looking to really solidify his spot in this rotation going forward. The Cardinals' bats woke up late yesterday and skipper Oli Marmol is going with the exact same lineup as the game before for the first time all season. I like the plus-money look here and am backing the birds to even the series.
