Handicapper and player prop expert John Hyslop is back with his top MLB player prop bet for Monday night. This time his pick comes from the Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals game with his sights set on Royals starting pitcher Kris Bubic.
ANALYSIS

Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction: Can We Bank on Kris Bubic Against the Angels?

The first thing anyone with two eyes, a functioning brain, and at least $1 in their gambling accounts need to do each day is see who the Los Angeles Angels are playing. That's the first step to gambling greatness these days. It's literally that simple. Who knows what's going on in the City of Angels but one thing is for sure, these guys strike out like it's their job. They are the perfect team to target pitchers in the 3.5 - 4.5 range since they make any 3.5 - 4.5 guy an instant 5.5 - 6.5 guy. If the books don't adjust, then that's on them. Lucky for us, there hasn't been a real adjustment for our guy tonight. He's a valued member of the Slop Circle of Trust and he's coming off an outing where he stuffed cash in our pockets for 5.1 glorious innings. I couldn't bet this fast enough this morning.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals Prediction

Kris Bubic Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+108) (Bet $100 to Win $108)

*Odds Available at FanDuel*

We're at FanDuel here because they are giving a great price. It's unbelievable really. DraftKings is coming in with even money so there is that but it's obviously not as good as +108. BetMGM seems to be hip to this one as they have -105 but it's still playable. We can't all play at FanDuel so at the end of the day we have to take what we can get. That's just how it goes sometimes.

We've ridden the Kris Bubic train before. Obviously, the guy is a Circle of Trust member or you wouldn't even be reading this right now. The Circle of Trust is so large and strong right now, we almost don't even need anyone else. We have enough earners and Bubic took us to the moon last time out against the San Francisco Giants. No need to deviate from the good guys.

The thing about Bubic is he isn't a strikeout guy by nature. He seems like more of a team-first, "get them out any way you can" type. But there is a little strikeout beast in him and I don't think the books have caught on to that yet. Going up and down his game logs, you'll notice that this guy has pitched against a ton of teams that don't really strike out very much. However, his last two starts have come against teams that are a little willy, nilly at the plate in the Baltimore Orioles and San Francisco Giants. He fanned at least five in both of those starts.

Tonight he gets a pitcher's dream in the Los Angeles Angels. These guys strike out like it's their job. Over the last two weeks, they've struck out 151 times in only 468 at-bats. The next closest team is at 126 whiffs in that span. I'm not kidding when I say that there are nine guys that could be in the lineup tonight that have fanned at least 30% of their at-bats over the past 15 days. There are not many pitchers that I wouldn't bet over 4.5 strikeouts at plus money.
