The San Diego Padres are currently 42-27 and they're doing this without their star shortstop, Fernando Tatis. After a 4-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks last night, the Padres will look to go for the series win a little early against Arizona. Can Arizona force a rubber match with a win tonight? Padres vs. Diamondbacks Line Movement

San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

The San Diego Padres will look to stay in control of the NL West. Currently, the Padres are 42-27 and are playing some of the best baseball in the National League. Tonight, the Padres will pitch Sean Manaea, who is 3-3 with a 3.95 ERA. In the last 30 days, Manaea has a 4.49 xFIP but 21.2% of strikeouts. He's also been able to induce 46.4% of ground balls while allowing just over 20% of line drives.

The left-hander is giving up some power to righties with an ISO of .237 in the last 30 days. But overall, Manaea has been very good throughout the year.

However, he's going to have to take on a balanced Diamondbacks lineup that has a .211 ISO and wOBA of .349 in the last 30 days. But Arizona's likely going to slow down with this lineup knowing that the lineup has hit just 18.8% of line drives while also hitting over 45% of ground balls against lefties in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, Zac Gallen will get the call for the Diamondbacks. He's starting to come back to life analytically but still has a 2.91 ERA on the season. Gallen has a 5.04 xFIP in the last 30 days with just 18.3% of strikeouts in that time frame. Lefties have a .390 wOBA and ISO of .280 while righties have a .329 wOBA and ISO of .173 in the last 30 days.

In the lineup, the Padres will have six lefties including rookie C.J. Abrams, who will replace Manny Machado for the time being.

The Padres have four players with an ISO of above .200 against righties and three of those players are left-handed hitters at the top of the order. The lineup should start with Trent Grisham, continue with Jurickson Profar, and then it would be Jake Cronenworth, who are all left-handed bats that can have success against Gallen.

With that said, I'll take my chances with the best NL West team at -130 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
