Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction: Can Johnny Cueto Get it Done at Home?
The White Sox stay home after a series win over the Blue Jays to take on the Orioles, who come into town after a 7-0 win over the Nationals. The Orioles took care of business last night, with Austin Hays hitting for the cycle in just six innings before the game was called due to weather. The White Sox have won three of their last five games while beating the Blue Jays twice and the Astros once. Can the White Sox get it done once again at home?

Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction
Dean Kremer gets the start for the Orioles, and he is 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA. He has only had three starts this season due to injuries, but he has looked pretty good so far. Most recently, he pitched six scoreless innings against the Rays at home. It is a nice change of pace from the same pitcher that had a 7.55 ERA last year and was 0-7.
The Orioles were 2-10 in games started by Dean Kremer last season, including 1-4 in road games. Kremer had a 1.69 WHIP on the road last season and was dealing with baserunners constantly. Has he made a significant change this season and is a new pitcher? I'm not sure, but three starts aren't enough to tell. He also has only had one road start this season, and it was against one of the worst teams in the league, the Royals.

Johnny Cueto gets the nod for the White Sox today and has been wildly inconsistent. In his first two starts, he went 12 combined innings with zero earned runs. Then, he gave up 14 runs over 23 innings in his next four starts. Now, he is coming off a start against the high-powered Astros in a start where he went seven scoreless innings with only two hits allowed. Cueto has been in the league a long time, and in his 14 seasons, he has been consistently inconsistent. However, his performance usually comes in spurts, meaning he strings together bad starts and good starts, as he did over his first two starts, then his next four starts after that. He is coming off a solid seven-inning outing against the Astros, so he should use the momentum for another good start tonight.
The White Sox have been slowly creeping back to .500 while trying to catch the Guardians and Twins. A win tonight brings the White Sox to .500, which will give them good motivation to win this game. The Orioles are 12-21 as a road underdog this season, and the White Sox have done well against teams below .500 this season. Take the White Sox to hit the Orioles hard with another good start from Cueto.
