This bet opened at 2.5 and we remained patient hoping for it drop and it did. I understand why in theory, Julio Urias is a great pitcher having a spectacular year but we have reasons to believe he gets hit a little bit. Urias has a 2.56 ERA on the season but has been a beneficiary of quite a bit of positive matchups. Today's will be no easy task against a Braves team that absolutely annihilates left handed pitching. That isn’t the lone narrative either, Urias struggles historically against these Braves bats in particular.
Atlanta bats a wild .263 against lefties and scores the 6th most runs per game in the MLB. Julio Urias hasn’t struggled much this year but has shown that when facing teams who hit lefties exceptionally well he’s capable of allowing some runs. The Phillies, Rockies and Giants among others compare similarly to the Braves and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Atlanta score both runs in the same inning to cash us. Atlanta has been pretty hot scoring 21 runs over their last 3 games so let's hope to see the hot bats continue for another night against a Dodgers team you know they want to beat.
Julio Urias played against the Braves three times last year and allowed 2+ ER in all three starts. He actually allowed 9 ER in 13 innings. That is almost .7 runs per inning which would project him to allow over 3 runs through the first 5 innings, all we need is 2. Atlanta is a team who when we bet on they almost always do the job. Being loyal isn’t just exclusive to friendships and relationships, it factors into gambling too. Haters will say the juice is too much, believers will drink the juice and take a good bet when they see it. I’m stoked we’re getting this number and will live with whatever happens.
