Should you trust Justin Verlander on the mound against the Yankees? Matt McCuen answers with his prediction and pick for Yankees vs. Astros.
ANALYSIS

New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros Prediction: Trust Justin Verlander Against the Yankees

The Houston Astros vs. the New York Yankees will battle it out from the Bronx for game two of this highly anticipated series. Game one did not disappoint in the slightest, as these two high-powered offenses wasted no time getting on the board.

The Astros put up three early runs in the top half of the first, followed by a three-spot by the Yankees in their bottom half of the first inning. The Astros answered back with three more runs in the top of the third, and then the game stalled. The score was 6-3, going to the bottom of the ninth as the Astros looked to close out the game. The Yankees did what the Yankees do, and Aaron Hicks delivered a three-run homer to tie the game at six a piece. The Yankees would go on to win the game after Aaron Judge singled with two outs to give New York their ninth walk-off win of the season.

Yankees vs. Astros Line Movement

New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros Prediction

This is why you can not fade the Yankees with much success. We were on the Yankees last night, but they did not deserve to win that game. They stole that win, and that is what great teams can do. Tonight they will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead, but they will have to deal with one of the most feared arms in the game. Justin Verlander gets the baseball for Dusty Baker and the Stros tonight. Verlander has been as good as ever this season, placing himself at the top of the CY young conversation. He will be opposed by right hand handed Luis Severino, who has had a fine season in his own right.

I am going to fade the Yankees tonight, which is something I have done only one time this entire season. This looks like it is a good bounce-back spot for Houston after a heartbreaking loss just a night ago. I am going to do the first five money line because I do not trust this Astros bullpen completely. I trust Justin Verlander. Verlander looks perhaps the best he has in his career, and I think he will be locked in against such a good lineup tonight. Houston should be able to give us a few runs early on against Severino. I can not pass up on Verlander at plus money tonight.
