Texas Rangers vs. Washington Nationals Prediction: Backing Paolo Espino Against Texas
The books are angry today people. By my calculations, they got absolutely smashed last night with the NBA Draft. I don't have exact numbers but it felt like a smashing. Especially that Paolo Banchero #1 overall +280 bet (nbd). But here at OddsChecker, we're not concerned with yesterday. We always thinking about today. Why? Because with every new day, comes another opportunity to gamble. That's just how days work. And gambling. Lucky for us, we've got a pretty full slate of MLB. I wish there was a Chicago Cubs game snuck in there at 2:20pm ET but sometimes we don't get what we want. We can wait until the evening for our action (unless there is a rando soccer game somewhere we can throw down on). It could be longer for some of us on the east coast because the first thing I saw was the Washington Nationals versus the Texas Rangers at 8:05pm ET. I will go back and check out the early games but this could be the first bet of the weekend for some of us. Luckily it has no chance of losing.

Paolo Espino Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-132) (Bet $132 to win $100)
We're at FanDuel here but if we're being honest (we are), DraftKings has -140 for this so it doesn't really matter where you play it. You're not going to be on your deathbed one day regretting the move. It's pretty much the same thing. The thing with FanDuel is you could ladder him up to 5+ (+176) so there is that to consider. My take is it's Friday night so everything is on the table.
I'm not going to lie, Paolo's have been good to me over the last 24 hours. Obviously, we saw Paolo Banchero go number one overall in the NBA Draft last night (+280 nbd) so why not go back to another Paolo tonight. I feel like it's a name we can trust right now. The beauty of this Paolo is that he's flying under the radar right now with 27 strikeouts in 35.1 innings of work this season. Nobody is going to see him coming.
Bet $10, Win $200 on any MLB Moneyline
The thing with this Paolo is he's been in a relieving role all season long so we don't even know what he could do if he's given more work. He's only started twice so far and the first game doesn't even count because they only let him throw 53 pitches. He still struck out two Milwaukee Brewers that day which is a testament to what a beast he is. The beast in him showed up again in his most recent start when he fanned five Philadelphia Phillies after being allowed to throw 89 pitches.
Tonight he gets the Texas Rangers and while they are not really a strikeout team, they whiff enough. Over the last two weeks, only 11 MLB teams have struck out more than they have. They have the fewest at bats of any of those teams too. With Josh H. Smith and Mitch Garver possibly being in the lineup we've got two guys that whiff 25+% of the time over the last two weeks so that's big too. Every little bit helps. I know it stinks to wait until 8:00 pm ET for a bet but at least this one will cash. Probably
