Handicapper and player prop expert John Hyslop is here with his top MLB player prop bet for Saturday. His pick comes from the Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals game with his sights set on Royals starting pitcher Brad Keller.
ANALYSIS

Kansas City Royals vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction: Should We Bank on Brad Keller to Pile Up Strikeouts?

You know what kind of a day it's going to be when you see this guy's name on your card. He is a personal favorite of mine and he always will be. Everyone knows that. I even have an award named after him for being the best strikeout pitcher with an ERA over 5. This guy is a truly special pitcher to bet on. I've bet him when he mowed down nine guys last season and I also had him early in the season when he didn't get out of the second inning. He's a man who loves to get two strikes on seemingly everyone yet finish the job on almost none of them. Still, it's Saturday and we need something to bet. The matchup is right and so is the time of the game. Brace yourselves people, you're about to see what the Brad Keller Experience is all about. (Please note that this isn't for everyone.)

Kansas City Royals vs. Oakland Athletics Prediction

Brad Keller Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-115) (Bet $115 to Win $100)

*Odds Available at BetMGM*

We're at BetMGM for this one because FanDuel was way too ambitious for our guy. They've got 4.5 (+130) which is a class move on their part but there's no chance I'd bet that. Unless I didn't have access to BetMGM. Or DraftKings since they have 3.5 (-135). With that being said, if you are an extreme psychopath, you could consider a 6+ (+285) ladder move at FanDuel if the other two books are not an option. After all, losses don't count on Saturdays and Brad Keller ladder wins are forever.

Brad Keller is off to a slow start in the strikeout department so far this season which is why he's a 3.5 guy right now. We're talking 47 strikeouts in 75.1 innings of work which is insane. Not in a good way either. I'm still trying to decide if I'm blaming Brad for this or his opponents. I'm leaning opponents but the problem is he hasn't really been facing teams that don't strike out. He's just not striking guys out. I'm still leaning towards blaming the other teams though.

There is some good news for all the Brad Keller enthusiasts out there though. Over his last three games, he's fanned at least four guys in all of them. In one of those starts, he only lasted 1.2 innings. That's called Brad Keller efficiency people. He also gave up three home runs in that 1.2 innings which is equally impressive. Brad Keller is in midseason form right now and I think it's best if we just appreciate his greatness at this point.

Keller is getting the Oakland Athletics today and while he just faced them last time out, I'm still taking him. I hate going with pitchers that are playing the same team twice in a row but we're talking Brad Keller here. On top of the two games in a row issue, the Oakland Athletics haven't been striking out much recently. We're talking in the 22% range. Still, on the season no team has struck out more in day games so we have that in our back pocket. Plus we only need four here to cash. I think this is a great opportunity to live the dream a little.
