San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction

Guys today is a weird day. I am not crazy about the board. It happens from time to time. I handicap virtually 365 days of the year and you just can’t always love every slate you see. There was a lot of action on the diamond early, but I just did not feel too sharp, so I laid off. There was money to be made but not when you don’t feel it, remember this guy. Sometimes the best bets are the ones you don’t make.

That sounds funny, especially coming from a high-volume guy like me. Trust me you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take ( I forgot who said that I think some hockey player) but you also can stay selective. There are over 2400 MLB games in a season; staying selective on a few big boards won’t hurt you in the long run.

Tonight I just have one play I want to give out for free. I see other spots to take sure but I think this one should be the best.

The San Francisco Giants are a good baseball team and the Cincinnati Reds are not. It can be as simple as that here. Trust me the Reds are showing the resemblance of a major league baseball team again and have significantly improved their play and competitiveness since the historically bad start to the season but they are still 24-46 and already almost out of the playoff picture entirely (unless a miracle is in the works.)

San Francisco is 38-32; they started well above .500 and have not left that mark but have regressed and I expect a push from them here at some point soon. They dropped game one of this series last night at home so I believe they should be more than motivated to pick it up here tonight. You have to take care of business against inferior opponents and not drop games to the field against the lesser teams.

Mike Minor is on the bump for the Reds sporting a 1-3 with a 6.97 ERA on the season; Logan Webb counters for the Giants sporting a strong record of 6-2 with a 3.26 ERA. I expect a bounce-back spot here tonight.
