Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
There is no better way to end a week than kicking back and watching some Sunday Night Baseball. We will have a good matchup on tap tonight as we will see the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the Atlanta Braves. This is a rematch of the NLCS from last season. The Braves would win the series to the surprise of many and then go on to win the World Series.
The Braves' best player during that world series run and the heart and soul of the team Freddie Freeman is now a Dodger. This was one of the most surprising off-season moves as it appeared fresh off a World Series; the Braves would give Freeman any contract he wanted. That was not the case, and he went to his hometown team the Dodgers.
The Braves had a rough start to the series but a fourteen-game win streak has turned their luck around. They now sit as a Wild Card team, and they have closed the gap on the Mets for the division. They went out and got All-Star first basemen, Matt Olson in the off-season to take over for Freeman. Olson has had a great year, and he is one double short of setting the Braves record for most doubles at the All-Star break.
The pitching matchup we get tonight should be a good one. Tony Gonsolin gets the ball for the Dodgers, and what a year he has had. Gonsolin enters this game sporting a perfect record of 9-0 with an era of 1.58. The Braves give the ball to Spencer Strider, who has a great mustache and has been solid for the Braves this season.
I am going to back the Dodgers on the moneyline tonight. I love the line we are getting here, as I have this closer to the -150 range. I give LA a large advantage on the mound tonight. Gonsolin continues to be disrespected by the books in my eyes. He is locked in this season and has been able to hold all his openers down this season. I think the Dodgers will get to Strider for a few early runs. We know how dominant this Dodgers lineup is, and after a bad loss last night, I believe they will bounce back here with a Sunday night win.
