Giants vs. Reds Line Movement

San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction

The Cincinnati Reds face the San Francisco Giants taking place on Sunday afternoon from the Bay Area. The Reds have been one of the worst teams in all of baseball this season after a historically bad start. They knew this would be a tough year when they blew up a large part of their roster in the offseason. The goal for the Reds this year is to find out who can be on their team long-term and help them win baseball games.

The Giants are fresh off their best season in franchise history. This was a loaded Giants team a season ago that played their roles perfectly. They saw the future Hall of Fame catcher Buster Posey call it a career in the off-season, and they lost Kris Bryant to free agency. They have put together another solid season despite losing some key pieces. This is a team, when you look at their lineup, you are not overwhelmed, but they grind out at-bats and win baseball games. They did not win a playoff series despite the great record as they fell to their biggest rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. They lost the game on a questionable check-swing call from Wilmer Flores. They look like they can be a playoff team yet again this season. The Reds will send Tyler Mahle to the mound, and former Red Anthony DeSclafani will oppose him.

I am backing the Giants today to get this win on the 1 line. I believe this is a Giants line, and what I mean by that is despite Mahle being the better arm, we see the Giants priced at -155 on the moneyline. I think Mahle will get hit in this game today.

The Giants have not played their best baseball as of late, so this could be a good bounce-back spot against a much weaker opponent at home. The Reds offensively have struggled to find a flow all season long, and I think that continues that afternoon. Let’s keep things rolling today!
