Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox Best Bet: Will the Mike Trout and the Angels Get to Lucas Giolito?
It's Monday, June 27th, 2022 and we've reached the point of the year where we have just nine MLB games to pick through in an effort for action. A lot of people would say that's a bad thing (it actually is) but I'll say it makes us stronger. We can't just do the status quo on a day like today. There's just not enough games.
We're going to have to dive into markets we don't normally go into for our action tonight. A lot of people are too scared to even try it. My grandfather used to say, "everybody wants to eat, but nobody wants to hunt" and while I'm not sure if it applies here, I'm saying it anyway. The point is, I had to go into a new market to get action for tonight. It just needed to be done. Lucky for us, the bet has a zero percent chance of losing.
Let's dive into my best bet, prediction, and the odds for the Angels vs White Sox game tonight.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox Best Bet
Lucas Giolito Over 5.5 Hits Allowed (+105) (Bet $100 to win $105)
*Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*
We're at DraftKings here but FanDuel has this at 5.5 (+102) so it's playable there too. I don't think I've ever seen this market at BetMGM or Barstool so it looks like we're stuck with one of the big two. The good news is, if you're reading this, you can likely play at least one or DraftKings or FanDuel. Some of you can play at both which is what I call living the dream. Congrats to those of you that fall into that category.
Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction
People are going to say I'm hating on Lucas Giolito a little with this move but I'm really not. I actually like the guy. At 6'6", 245 pounds, he's exactly the type of pitcher I would create on MLB: The Show. He's just a hulk of a human being. Everyone knows that. The thing is, even Lucas gives up hits. We've all seen him do it. In fact, there's not a pitcher in the game today that doesn't give up hits. That's just how the game works. This is not hating.
I would think Lucas sees at least 20 batters tonight and if that happens, I like our chances. So far this season, Lucas has had 10 starts where he saw 20+ guys. In those 10 starts, he's given up at least six hits in eight of them. That's almost 80% of the time. What's great is, he's given up at least six hits in each of his last five starts including an 11-hit game last time out. I don't know if we go that high tonight but it's nice to know we can if we need to.
Now I started looking into this game because of strikeouts. We're talking about the Los Angeles Angels here people. While they do strike out all the time, they also hit a little bit. Not an illegal amount but enough to get us by (14th in MLB this season). The thing is, this game is in LA and there's only one team in MLB that has more hits at home than the Angels do this season (Rockies). They just got nine hits off of Logan Gilbert at Angel Stadium on Saturday night. (That guy is 6'6" too just not as heavy as Lucas Giolito.) This feels like the greatest bet of all time.
