First Leg: NYY/OAK F5 u4.5 -110
Paul Blackburn has regressed a bit over his last few starts but one thing that has been constant with him this season is his success on the road. It has been made clear that he is extremely comfortable pitching in visiting environments and does not mind the big stage. The Yankees have been fairly cold at the plate lately as they haven’t gotten a single hit in the first 5 innings of a game since the first inning of their game on Friday… that’s pretty unreal when you think about it. The Oakland offense as also been very anemic and I think Jordan Montgomery should be able to hold them down. I see this playing out as a 2-1 or 2-0 F5 for either side in what should be a lower-scoring affair.
Second Leg: LAD/COL F5 u6.5 -113
The Dodgers played on Sunday Night Baseball last night in a long extra-inning affair that ended close to midnight. Assuming the dodgers flew overnight, they wouldn’t have been able to get on the plane until at least 1:30/2:00 AM and had to fly cross country to Colorado which is always a tougher environment to play in. Idk how much this will affect the dodgers but it could lead to a slow offensive start and the dodgers have really struggled to hit with runners in scoring position on the season anyway. Chad Kuhl has been fantastic for the Rockies this season and shut down the Braves at home in what should be a similar game tonight.
Third Leg: Mariners F5 ML -141
George Kirby is a very good young right-handed pitcher for the Mariners who has flashed a fastball in the upper 90s and induces a lot of weak contacts. One thing about Kirby this season is that he has done very well against each opponent he has faced except for the Boston Red Sox. In two starts against the Red Sox, he has allowed eight earned runs in 10 innings. Against all other opponents, he has allowed just nine earned runs in 39 innings for an earned run average of just over 2.00. I think Kirby shuts down the young and talented O’s lineup tonight and see a 3-1 type F5 here in the M’s favor.
Fourth Leg: TWINS ML -120
Rolling with full game on the Twins here. Trusting their bullpen to bounce back in a sort of way as we saw this exact same pitching matchup last week when the Twins took a 10-7 lead into the ninth inning and coughed up the lead as they allowed four runs and lost the game 11-10. Gray has been much better on the road this season as well and thinks he will go deep into this game to provide their bullpen with a nice cushion.
