George Kirby is one impressive dude for being just 24 years old. The guy has a 3.12 ERA and has handled some of the best offenses in the league. He won’t have to worry about facing one of those today because he’s just playing Baltimore. This is a team that he has already faced and not only did this bet cash last time but he skunked them. He pitched 6 innings and only allowed four hits with no runs scored, the guy dominated them. We don’t need him to do exactly that again, we just need him to allow two runs or less. Kirby has hit this prop in 6/9 starts and two of three misses were Boston who hit over .260 against righties. Baltimore hits a much less impressive .228.
Baltimore is a team that is harder to pick on this year but they still score the 9th least runs in the MLB. Kirby has hit in four of his last five games and seems to be getting better and better. The reason I specifically prefer this prop over anything that involves the Mariners' offense is the suspected suspensions from yesterday's brawl. Nothing is official yet but I would definitely expect Winker and JP will be out of the lineup today. I think this game goes low scoring on both sides and I don’t mind an f5 under for the complete game as a pivot if this market isn’t available to you.
Kirby is a guy who I’ve been looking for reasons to bet for the longest and I keep regretting not pulling the trigger. This here feels like the right time to pounce and I am shocked that this bet isn’t juiced. Only paying -115 for something like this is wild. Kirby has a 6/9 hit rate, already dominated this offense, and is seemingly becoming more comfortable as of late. Factor in that it’s at home and that it’s a night game where sometimes we see lower scoring games and this bet feels like a home run. We’ll stick with 1 unit here but this bet is one I would certainly consider as one of my favorites of the day.
