Toronto Blue Jays vs Boston Red Sox Prediction

The Red Sox got off to a tough start but since then have really turned around their season. This was a team who surprised many a season ago, but they were not going to catch anyone off guard this year. The Red Sox improved their team in the offseason by landing one of the biggest names on the market in Trevor Story. The addition of Stroy made the Sox one of the best infields in the majors pairing him with Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts.

The Red Sox pitching has really stepped up the last few weeks, allowing them to get back on track. The Red Sox are the number one wild card team at the moment, sitting eleven games above the .500 mark. They enter this game tonight, winning seven straight ball games. That is the current longest winning streak in the major leagues.

The Blue Jays currently hold the final wild-card spot, and they are 2.0 games back of the Red Sox. This is a team that is far too talented to miss out on the playoffs, and their guys will do everything in their power to make the playoffs for the first time in the Vlad era. This is a team filled with young talent, and they are one of the more fun teams to watch in the majors. They will send one of their best arms to the mound tonight in Kevin Gausman, who will be tasked with putting out the current fire that is the Boston Red Sox.

I am going to back the Jays on the -1 line tonight. I know it is tough to fade a team who has won seven games in a row and playing with supreme confidence, but this is the perfect letdown spot in my eyes. Kevin Gausman has had a good year, and I trust that he will come out and do what he is supposed to do in this game tonight. The Jays hold a large pitching advantage in this game.

Connor Seabold will get the ball for Alex Cora and the Sox tonight. He has had limited work this season, sporting an era of 6.00 in just three innings; I expect to see multiple arms from the Sox today. The Blue Jays' offense should have a breakout game, and Gausman will be able to limit this Sox lineup.
