Toronto Blue Jays vs Boston Red Sox Prediction
Red Sox have been red hot, betting against them might seem crazy but all signs point to this game being the game they slow down. They are starting Connor Seabold who is only making his second ever career start. In his opening start he allowed two runs in three innings which isn’t great. That was against a White Sox team who is much better against lefties and Seabold is a righty, I think tonight’s challenge should be even tougher for the rook. Toronto hits righties at a .251 clip. Additionally, I kind of like that Toronto has lost two straight games, I think they’re too talented to losethree3 straight but I don’t trust their bullpen so I much prefer the first five innings.
On the mound for Toronto is Kevin Gausman who has historically owned these bats. Gausman this season has Boston twice and has pitched 14 innings against them only allowing one run total. Needless to say, Toronto was leading after five innings in both of those games. Gausman has faced these bats 167 times and has allowed only 38 hits. That is only a .227 batting average with a monstrous sample size. I think Gausman’s recent success against them and lifelong success should continue and I like the Blue Jays' bats to hit the kid making his second-ever start. Sure Boston has won seven straight, that just leans they’re due a loss.
This bet should be widely available but I also like Gausman To Record A Win if for some reason you can’t get this. I just personally don’t love Toronto’s bullpen and don’t want the fate of my money being determined by them. Gausman is weirdly better on the road than at home but I still think he pitches fine. The bats much prefer playing at home though and should rattle the rookie. The Blue Jays are 21-14 at home and just 19-18 on the road, I like the team that wins 60% of the time at home to win again and to lead by one or more.
