Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres Best Bet

1u - Sean Manaea u5.5 Hits Allowed (-134) (Bet $134 to win $100)

*Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing*

This number is so interesting. Manaea has played Arizona twice and has allowed zero and four hits in those two games. To open the season we saw Manaea pitch seven hitless innings against Arizona. In his most recent start, he played them again and only allowed four hits in six innings of work. So you’re telling me we’re getting u5.5 hits for a guy who has pitched 13 innings against this team this year and has only allowed four total? Count me in.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres Prediction

The last time we backed Manaea was against the Cubs and he disrespected our cash, he definitely feels bad about that and wants to make it right to us tonight. Arizona bats .224 against lefties, I’m far from scared. Another aspect of this bet that I like is that Manaea has never been particularly better at home or away so this game being played in Arizona shouldn't play too much of a factor. The last time he pitched there was the opening start where he went seven hitless. I know batters adjust to seeing a pitcher multiple times but I think this number is too good to pass up.

Manaea has allowed five or fewer hits in five of his last six, the only miss was that windy game in Chicago where gusts were in the 30s. In normal weather conditions, this guy is on a five streak. I’m not sure I would call Arizona’s 100-degree nights normal but they are definitely conditions he’s already performed in well. Arizona just scored 11 runs in their last game against the Tigers, I think they got all their hits out of the way in that game and will now come back to reality. Sean Manaea owes us and we would be fools not to take the handout.
