The Chicago White Sox will take on the Los Angeles Angels tonight from LA. The White Sox won last night's game in blowout fashion behind veteran Johnny Cueto. The Angels jumped out to a 3-0 lead, and everything looked good, but then the Sox answered back with ten consecutive runs.
These two teams have been as disappointing as any in the majors this year, and they will both need great second halves of the season to make the postseason. The pitching matchup tonight should be a great one as the Chicago White Sox sends Michael Kopech to the mound. He has been one of their best arms this season, and the Angels send Shohei Ohtani, who is always a pleasure to kick back and watch.
Ohtani could be the most entertaining baseball player of all time. Anytime your MLB comparison is Babe Ruth, you know you are doing something the right way. The Angels are hoping they can turn things on sooner than later to give Mike Trout an opportunity to play in the postseason. Trout has not won a playoff game yet in his decorated MLB career. We will see which one of these teams can get a win tonight and start to turn their seasons around.
I am going with a prop for this game tonight. I am turning to the services of one of my favorite arms in MLB, Michael Kopech. Kopech, who is a native of Longview, Texas, has been outstanding for the Sox this season. He is one of the few bright spots on this team. All we need him to do today is to go 5.1 innings, and I believe he will be up to the task.
This is an Angels lineup that may be more top-heavy than anyone in baseball. They have three or four guys who can hurt you, and after that, there is a major drop-off. Kopech has the stuff that he can handle the big guns and should cruise against the bottom half of their lineup. I am all in on Kopech tonight!
