1u - Jameson Taillon To Record A Win (+104) (Bet $100 to win $104)
This market sure beats taking Yankees ML at over -300. Taillon needs to record at least 5 innings to qualify for a win which he has done in 9 of his last 10 games. Taillon has recorded a win in 7 of his last 10 starts and gets the easiest matchup of them all tonight. Oakland is simply a bad baseball team, they are 25-51 and hold the worst record in the MLB. Life won’t get any easier for them tonight as they face the Yankees who hold the best record in the league. It doesn’t take a fortune teller to know how to predict this game, the best team vs the worst team, I will gladly bet like a square and trust logic over trying to convince myself to fade the public.
Taillon has been better than expected this season, the man has a 3.19 ERA and has a great history against these Oakland bats specifically. In the history of Jameson against these bats, they have faced off 29 times and have only gotten 5 hits against him. Taillon is in a prime position to bounce back after a brutal home start against Houston who got to him. Oakland is much less intimidating as they hit righties at a putrid .207 clip on the year. Oakland is a team I will gladly fade every day. Even though the Yankees burned us the other day, I’m a believer in 2nd chances.
Oakland is starting Cole Irvin. Irvin actually has a great history vs these bats but my “law of averages” side comes out now believes he is due for regression against these bats. Yankees have performed very well against lefties as of late and I could see Irvin allowing the long ball once or twice tonight. Irvin has had a good year but his home/away splits are insane. At home, he has an impressive 1.57 ERA but on the road, he has a 5.03. Tonight's game being played at Yankee Stadium will not do him any favors. I think the Yankees get some runs on him and Taillon bounces back. Give me this beauty of a bet at plus odds any day.
