I know the Tigers are a bad baseball team, I get it. With that being said, this line is too low. This should either be 1.5 with massive juice on the over or 2.5 with slight juice on the under. Alex Wood has allowed 2 ER in 11/14 games. This prop has a 78.5% hit rate on the year. The Tigers are not good but they have one positive trait about them offensively, they can actually hit left-handed pitching. Against righties, they hit an awful .214 but against lefties like tonight, they hit an impressive .264. I’m not saying they’re gonna go out there and make him look like 2022 Dallas Keuchel but 2 runs is not asking for much.
The Tigers offense has “come alive” and when I say that I mean they are finally playing average but for us that’s great. Riley Greene being healthy has ignited something into this team to make us go from unenjoyable to watch to slightly a bother when it’s on. The Tigers have scored 50 runs in their last 9 games which I would guess is the most runs over a 9-game sequence all year for them. With their success against lefties and the “rejuvenated” offense, I think 2 runs is very possible. Alex Wood just got obliterated by Atlanta and although he’ll be looking to bounce back I think he can go out there and pitch 5-6 innings and allow 2 runs for a just fine start.
Alex Wood doesn’t go too late into games, so if this isn’t available for you, I recommend you take the o1.5 First 5 Inning Team Total for Detroit. Wood is a guy who is good but not great, I’m sure the public will be all over the Giants in this one (rightfully so) but hopefully, we look smart and take the team that shockingly hits lefties without having to rely on Rony Garcia. I weirdly feel really good about this and think it has 1st inning potential if Javy Beaz can control his career success against him. Every time I bet on my Tigers I feel like it’s dumb until it hits, this time I’m going in on confident.
