Cubs vs. Reds Line Movement

Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction

The Chicago Cubs will send out Kyle Hendricks for tonight's game. Hendricks has a 3-6 record with a 4.90 ERA on the season.

In the last 30 days, however, Hendricks. has a 4.13 xFIP with 21.3% of strikeouts and 3.4% of walks. He's been better in the last month in comparison.

Still, Hendricks has allowed 26.9% of line drives in the last 30 days and has induced just 35.8% of ground balls in that same time frame. Lefties are currently hitting a .382 wOBA and ISO of .243 against Hendricks.

However, the Reds will only have two lefties in the lineup. Joey Votto has a .194 ISO and wOBA of .345 in the last 30 days against righties while Mike Moustakas has been dreadful, hitting a .051 ISO and wOBA of .265.

There's reason to think Hendricks can escape without allowing too much damage.

On the other hand, Graham Ashcraft will take the mound for the Reds. Ashcraft has been one of the few bright spots for the Reds, holding a 4-1 record with a 3.27 ERA on the season.

In the last 30 days, he has had an xFIP of 3.39 with 2.4% of walks. He's also induced 57.6% of ground balls in those 30 days. However, righties have hit a .330 wOBA and ISO of .218 in his last 55 plate appearances against them.

The Cubs have six righties in the lineup and a wOBA of .334 against righties in the last 30 days with the projected lineup. Plus, the Cubs have hit 22.2% of line drives against righties in that same time frame.

I'll take the Cubs as a short favorite at home.
