Dodgers vs. Padres Line Movement

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres Prediction

The San Diego Padres will be underdogs in tonight's game with Joe Musgrove on the mound. Musgrove has an 8-1 record with a 2.12 ERA, but he's an underdog on the road against the Dodgers.

In the last 30 days, Musgrove has had a 3.46 xFIP with 23.1% of strikeouts and 6.7% of walks. He's also earned 61.1% of ground balls while limiting line drives to 19.4% in those last 30 days.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers haven't been all that special at the dish. Mookie Betts isn't available due to injury and now the Dodgers have a .164 ISO and wOBA of .321 in the last 30 days against righties with their projected lineup. Los Angeles has hit just 33% of ground balls, which is good, but only two batters have a wOBA higher than .336 in the Dodgers lineup against a righty.

Meanwhile, Mitch White will get the call for tonight's game with the Dodgers. The right-handed pitcher has a 4.58 xFIP in the last 30 days but has earned 25.4% of strikeouts in that same time frame. White has also limited line drives to 15.4% in those 30 days but has allowed a .340 wOBA and ISO of .211 in the last 30 days to lefties.

In the Padres lineup, he'll have to face six lefties, including Jake Cronenworth. Cronenworoth has a .247 ISO and wOBA of .407 against righties in the last 30 days. Meanwhile, Luke Voit, a right-handed batter, has a .300 ISO and wOBA of .363 against righties in the last 30 days.

The Padres simply have the better pitcher and the more consistent offense, even without Manny Machado in the lineup. I'll grab the Padres as underdogs in this one.
