If we want to have action all day long we're going to have to hit the 7:00 pm ET window. That's just how time works. Lucky for us, I found a game that will likely be on any television I'll be around which is key. Not that it was a factor in this bet, I'm just saying it's true. It just is. We're talking the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs here. People are going to be watching that.

Plus it's on FOX so it's a national broadcast. And since it's on television, we should bet it. Everyone knows that. All we need to do is find the perfect angle to attack and we'll be golden. The thing is, I knew what I was attacking the second I saw who was pitching for the Cubs. Sometimes it's just that easy.

If you can't play at DraftKings, then I doubt you can play this exact bet. I haven't seen this market anywhere else but I didn't really look that hard either. If you're at FanDuel, you're out of gas. They don't have what we need. But if you're at BetMGM, you could just take Alec Mills Over 2.5 earned runs (-115). It's pretty much the same bet although I like the team total better.

The idea that we're betting Alec Mills in 2022 is crazy. If you've never seen him pitch, it's definitely worth watching. If you've ever been to a kids' birthday where they had a piñata, it's pretty much the same thing. It's just a bunch of people hitting a defenseless object. In this case, the object is Mills. There has literally never been a time where a Cubs fan can see this guy take the mound and feel confident. Alec Mills just doesn't work like that.

So far Mills has started once, and in that start, he was back to his same old piñata schtick. It was last Sunday when he only lasted 2.2 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals. Despite not getting out of the third inning, Mills was still able to give up five earned runs. It was his third appearance in a row in which he gave up at least five earned runs. This guy is consistent. He doesn't need a ton of time to do damage.

Tonight he's going to see a team in the Boston Red Sox that have the sixth-most hits in the last week. I almost played Mills over 5.5 hits allowed (+120) but when we consider the fact that they have the most walks over the last week I went to the team total.

Everyone knows Mills doesn't walk a ton of guys since they usually get a hit before it gets that far in the count, but it just felt right to go with the runs. The hits allowed bet is definitely in play anytime Mills takes the mound but he has to have a short leash at this point. Any way you look at it, three runs for a team hitting against Alec Mills feels like a good bet.
