Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

The Pirates have a chance with a win to take a 3-1 series victory. This has been rare territory for Pittsburgh this season, and they have struggled with the Brewers coming into the series. Milwaukee won six games in a row vs. Pittsburgh prior to this four-game set. The Pirates' bats have woken up so far in this series, and they will look to continue their success today against one of the best arms in all of baseball.

Brandon Woodruff gets the rock for Craig Counsell today. Woodruff has struggled a bit this season if you look at his numbers but do not let that fool you. He is one of the premier rams in baseball and should be locked in today trying to get his team the series split. He will be opposed by veteran southpaw Jose Quintana who has been outstanding for Pittsburgh this season. He is a journeymen guy who may be a target for teams in playoff contention at the trade deadline. 

I am backing the Brewers on the -1 line today. This is a gift of a line, and this line should be much higher. We backed the Pirates in game one of this series, then had the Brewers -1 for game two, and now here we are. I feel like I have a good grip on this series and that this play is an easy winner for us.

I expect Woodruff to dominate this game, and I think that the Brewers will get to Quintana, who is due for some regression. The Brewers have been swinging the bats well as of late, and that will continue today. I think we see a series split and a blowout win today by the Brew Crew.
