Miami Marlins vs. Los Angeles Angels Prediction
Lineups have now been released, so I know exactly what we are looking at in this one here tonight. It is not ideal in my eyes to see Jazz Chisolm out of the lineup for Miami, but other than that, the lineup looks good and significantly better anytime Sandy Alcantara has the ball. Conversely, it is hard for me to go against Trout, Ohtani, and Ward, but outside of that, the lineup should cause little trouble, and I am more than comfortable fading Noah Syndergaard at just about any time right now.
Yes, he has figured some things out and is no longer getting pulled in the first hour of his starts, but he is still not the “Thor” that he once was, in my opinion. He is 5-6 with a 3.86 ERA on the season and has to duel on the road tonight with one of the most dominant arms in the game.
Alcantara is 8-3 with a 1.95 ERA and a stellar sub-one WHIP at 0.95. This line is a little heavy for something that I imagine very well could be a close game, but I love backing Sandy here in this spot. Miami is red hot and enjoying a strong winning streak now with an opportunity to reach that .500 mark on the season just two games back. Their ace is on the mound tonight with a chance to make that number just one which is much better than three. Fade the fading Angels in this spot against a top arm and look for them to drop to 1-5 across their last six games.
