Chicago White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins Prediction

The Minnesota Twins will take on the Chicago White Sox this afternoon, looking to complete a three-game sweep. The Twins sit at the top of the American League Central and have seen their lead grow over the last few days.

The Twins have maybe been the biggest surprise in all of baseball. You can make a good case that they have the best one, two, three hitters in baseball, and when their pitching is on the way it has been in the first half, they are one of the toughest teams to beat in baseball.

The White Sox looked like they were finding some momentum this year following a sweep against the Giants. This is a big series for them; losing two of their first three is not a good sign. The Sox will need to salvage the series today, and they have the right guy on the mound. Lance Lynn gets the rock for the Sox, and he will have to be the guy to stop the bleeding.

Lynn missed the beginning of the season, but he is starting to get back to form in his last couple of starts. Lynn will be opposed by one of the best young arms in the league in Joe Ryan. Ryan is twenty-six years of age and has been outstanding for Minnesota this season. Ryan enters play sporting a record of 6-3 with an era of 3.00 in twelve games. 

I am backing the Whtie Sox today on the moneyline. I will be shocked if Minnesota comes in here and sweeps the Sox. Lance Lynn is being severely undervalued here in my eyes, as he has been impressive as of late. Lynn is a guy who was competing for a Cy Young last season as he ended third in Cy Young voting. He looked like he would win the award until Robbie Ray stole it late in the season.

The bottom line is that Lynn can be that guy again this season. The Sox know how important this game is today to salvage this series, so I expect a focused effort from them here today. The Sox bats should come alive today and give them some life.
