Houston Astros vs Kansas City Royals Prediction

The Royals have had a long season so far and, record-wise is one of the worst teams in the American League. It has been business as usual for the Astros, who represent the second-best record in all of baseball. This is a team filled with talent and filled with championship DNA.

Houston is known for their cheating scandal that occurred a few seasons ago but cheating or not cheating is one of the best offenses the league has seen in the past five years. Despite stars like Carlos Correa and George Springer leaving in free agency their still a top offense. They have been replaced by guys like Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker, who both are having all-star caliber seasons.

The Royals pulled off a huge upset last night, led by a good offensive night. The Royals dropped three runs in the first inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back despite a couple of runs by the Astros. The Astros will send their ace and one of the best pitchers of the past decade to the mound in the form of Justin Verlander. Verlander has had a great season after missing last year. The addition of Verlander to the rotation makes them one of the better staffs in the league. Verlander is 10-3 with an era of just 2.03. He will be opposed by southpaw Kyle Bubic who has had a season to forget so far, supporting an era of 7.06. 

The play I am turning to today is a prop centered around the arm of Verlander. We are taking Justin Verlander to record a win. This is a market I rarely get into, but when there is value like this I am going to take a shot. Houston should bounce back and win this game after losing yesterday.

They are facing one of the worst starters in all of baseball and should be able to get to him early. As long as Houston scores a few runs before the sixth inning, I believe we cruise here. Verlander over-under on runs allowed is just 1.5, so the books are expecting a great outing, as am I. There is no Astors play that makes sense due to juice, so I believe this is the safest play for tonight.
