Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
The Phillies got off to an awful start but since have been one of the best teams in the National League since the firing of Joe Girardi. This is a team that was slated to be in the playoffs in the preseason after they were extremely aggressive in the offseason.
One of those off-season additions was Kyle Schwarber. Schwarber has been outstanding since joining Philly, leading the National League in home runs with twenty-seven. He is paced toward 60 on the season, and his production is a huge reason that this team has been able to flip the script on their season. The Cardinals have been about what was expected. An above-average team that has struggled to pitch at times. The Cardinals' bright spot has been their offense, led by multiple-time All-Star Paul Goldschmidt. Goldy is one of the favorites to win National League MVP, and for a good reason. He is hitting .342 on the season with a WAR of 4.8. St. Louis has been a top-ten offense this season, ranking ninth in the bigs with an average of 4.59 runs per game.

The bet I am backing here is going to be a prop on Zack Wheeler. I am taking Wheeler over 1.5 runs earned. Wheeler has been as good as you can be this season, but this number is far too low for an offense as good as St Louis. As I said, the Cardinals rank top ten in the league in runs, and they are good enough to get to this number in an inning. They just saw Wheeler last week, and he completely shut them down, so I expect them to bounce back in this spot tonight. All we need here is two runs for one of the best offenses in all of baseball. Let’s cash this in!
Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals Pick
