The first two games were won by Seattle, and they were underdogs in both of those contests. The story remains the same here tonight as they enter this game yet again as dogs.
The Mariners are all of a sudden one of the hottest teams in baseball and soaring up in the standings. This is an extremely talented team that just struggled out of the gate. Ever since their brawl with the Angels, they have turned the corner. The team showed their commitment to making a postseason run when they traded for Carlos Santana from the Royals proving they are buyers and not sellers.
Tonight they will give the ball to Robbie Ray, who won a Cy Young award last season wearing a Blue Jays uniform. Ray inked a large contract in the off-season with Seattle and, after a sluggish start to his season, seems to have found his form.
He will be opposed by Alek Manoah, who has had a very good season for the Jays so far this season. He will be framed with shutting down this all of a sudden hot Seattle lineup tonight.
I am backing Toronto tonight on the money line. I believe the line is fairly telling here, as despite how hot the Mariners are, and now with the reigning Cy Young award winner on the mound, they are still dogs. I think the Jays get to Ray tonight and touch him up in this game. Alec Manoah has thrown the ball great this season, and I trust that he can shut down this Seattle lineup tonight. This game is a perfect bounce-back spot for the Jays!
