Kansas City Royals vs Detroit Tigers Prediction

The Tigers are fresh off a series split with the White Sox, while the Royals are coming off a series win over the Guardians. The Royals have had a tough season overall, although they are playing better baseball as of the last week.

The Royals came into the year expected not ti be a playoff team and they have showed us why so far. This is a decent lineup, but the pitching has not been up to par for Kansas City. The Royals rank 28th in the majors in earned run average with an era of 4.99 as a team. The only teams worse are the Nationals and Reds.

The Royals look like they will be sellers as the trade deadline comes around, and they have a few appealing pieces. They already moved on from first baseman Carlos Santana when they sent him to the Mariners. Santana has hit a two-run home run in back-to-back games for the Mariners, winning both games. The other players expected to be dealt with as the deadline approaches are Whit Merrifled and Andrew Benintendi.

The Royals are still without their best player last season, Salvador Perez. The Tigers were a team that a lot of people thought could be a dark horse to make the playoffs. They struggled early in the season, which has put them in a tough spot to make a run. They have been playing better as of late and will look to continue that today. 

I will be backing the dog here in the Tigers today on the run line. I do think they win the game, but I could also see this being a low-scoring game that ends with a one-run win. Michael Pineda gets the ball for the Tigers, and he has been really good this season with an era of 3.62. He is a veteran guy who should be able to control this game today.

Brad Keller gets the rock for the Royals, and this is a guy I believe the Tigers can get to early. Keller comes in with a record of 4-9 and an era of 4.37. He has not been able to find a flow this season, and this Tigers offense has been swinging it better as of late. I am all in on the Tigers today as they look to get on a big run.
