Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Prediction
The New York Mets battle the Atlanta Braves taking place from Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday night for game two of this pivotal NL East series. The Mets won game one behind a dominant performance by Max Scherzer. Scherzer made his second start since coming back off the IL and looked like he was in mid-season form. He was essentially unhittable, and the only guy to get to him was Austin Riley, who hit a solo home run in the 7th. The Braves offense would have a chance to tie it in the 8th inning when Dansby Swanson was up with runners on second and third with two outs. He would ground out and end the inning, essentially ending the ball game.
The Braves will look to bounce back today and close the gap on the Mets' lead in the NL East. The Braves will send Spencer Strider to the mound, who does not only have a great mustache but also has some of the best stuff in baseball. He will be opposed by southpaw David Peterson.Â
I am backing the Braves tonight on the -1 line. I love this spot as a bounceback for this Braves team. The Mets are dealing with injuries right now, and this is not the best version of the Mets lineup. Scherzer won them that game last night, but tonight I believe that the Braves bats can get to Peterson and give Strider some runs to work with.
Strider is pitching with extreme confidence at the moment and should be able to control this New York lineup. This line has jumped all day long and will continue to do so in favor of the Braves. I would jump on this one as soon as possible as I fully trust Atlanta tonight.Â
