New York Yankees vs. Cincinnati Reds Best Bet: Will Gerrit Cole Dominate Brandon Drury and the Reds?
I'm an underdog guy. Always have been. Buster Douglas, App State (beat Michigan), Jeremy Lin, Jim Abbott, Miracle on Ice, Cleveland Indians (Major League), Average Joes (Dodgeball), all of them. How can you not just root for the underdog? There's probably something wrong with you if you don't. But sometimes, just sometimes, you have to say screw the underdog. There's a reason they are underdogs. It's because they aren't as good as their opponent. That's just how being an underdog works. Lucky for us, this is a good day to say screw the underdogs. We've got heavy favorites all over the place, and even though they have to reach a big number, we can still bet on them to do it. That's just how being a heavy favorite works. There's one, in particular, that rivals Little League teams in terms of strikeouts. This should be a bloodbath.

New York Yankees vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction
Gerrit Cole Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-110) (Bet $110 to win $100)
We're at BetMGM for this one because they have the best price. While FanDuel and DraftKings are bending people over for -120+, the people at BetMGM are keeping it real with a price we can all be proud of. Obviously, not everyone can play at BetMGM, so if you have to go elsewhere, it's fine. It's Tuesday, and you'll need some action to get through the day. Just know that FanDuel has ladders if you haven't heard, and Cole to go 9+ is +158.
Am I a fan of Gerrit Cole? No. Not even a little. But just because I don't like him doesn't mean I don't respect him. The man is a strikeout machine. Maybe even better. In 1548.2 career innings pitched, he's racked up 1797 strikeouts. That's a lot. He's just a 6'4", 220-pound beast of a man who makes other men sit down on the regular. Pisses me off, but he's damn good at what he does.
So far this season, Cole is up to his old tricks. On the season, he's right at 100 innings pitched with 124 whiffs. The haters are going to say that he hasn't reached eight strikeouts in either of his last two starts, but as usual, they are just saying stupid stuff. Those games were against the Cleveland Guardians and Boston Red Sox. Neither of those teams really strike out that much so those starts don't even count. Why even bring them up?
Tonight Cole gets the Cincinnati Reds, who strike out like it's their job. If you asked someone to try to hit a BB in the dark, that's what they look like. It's the best way to describe it. They've got six guys that could be in the lineup tonight that are all 32+% strikeout guys over the last two weeks. They've got another five that are all above 25% in that span. Gerrit Cole will likely only need three innings to get this number, so make sure you have more bets for later in the night. Nobody wants to be done before 8:00 pm ET.
