San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction

The Arizona Diamondbacks will take on the San Francisco Giants for game two of this series from the Bay Area tonight. The Giants let us down last night as they lost the game 4-3 and missed multiple chances to lead late. Their best chance came in the bottom of the 8th inning when Brandon Crawford was up with the bases loaded and one out. Crawford bounced into an inning-ending double play that basically ended the ball game.

The Giants have not been playing their best baseball as of late, and they find themselves on the outside looking in of the playoff picture. The D-Backs have been a tough team to figure out this season. They would have a winning record against the league if you took away their record against the Dodgers and the Padres. The bottom line here is this team is better than a lot of people give them credit for. While they likely will not be a playoff team this season, they have some young pieces that look like they will be pivotal for the future. It will be interesting to see how the D-Backs approach the deadline and whether they are sellers or not. Tonight the D-Backs will have to beat one of the best arms in the game in the form of Logan Webb. Veteran southpaw Dallas Keuchel will oppose him. 

I know they let us down a night ago, but the Giants will bounce back and win this game tonight in my eyes. They have too much talent to play as poorly as they have as late, and now they face one of the worst starters in all of baseball. Keuchel turned in a few great seasons in his career, but he probably should not be a major league pitcher at this stage. The White Sox released him earlier in the year, and Arizona gave him a second chance. I think the Giants can hang up some nice numbers tonight against Keuchel.

Logan Webb is a guy you do not want to fade often. Webb enters this game with an ERA under three and has won seven games. Webb should shut down this Arizona lineup tonight at home. I love this spot for the Giants. Let’s cash in.
