Washington Nationals vs. Seattle Mariners Best Bet: Will Ty France and the Mariners Jump on Josiah Gray?
We had a nice day yesterday, and we are looking to roll momentum forward here today as I am a fan of this board just like yesterday. There are a couple of trap games and lines to stay away from in my mind. You should not love every game on a 15-game slate, but for the most part, I see a solid angle on a good bit of these games this evening.
I already gave out two of my favorite money line plays on The Morning Edge on the YouTube channel earlier, so if you missed those, be sure to go check them out here. I still like plenty more. There is one more straight-up moneyline I like that isn’t very juiced at all, so I am going to stick with the theme here and dive into that one.

Washington Nationals vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction
In this matchup tonight, we get a great line on two teams trending in opposite directions both recently and this season. The Washington Nationals have been gutted over the last few seasons and that team that won the World Series just three years ago back in 2019 (although it feels like ten) is no more. Juan Soto is virtually all that’s left, and the former World Champions are now sitting dead last in the National League East with an abysmal record of 30-58.
Don’t wince yet. It gets worse.
They are worse at home than away, with a 14-31 record on their own turf. They have won only one game this month and are 1-10 across their last eleven games heading into this matchup. On the contrary, Seattle is 12-1 across their last 13 games and is sitting in second place for the division with a 45-42 record.
Chris Flexen has the ball tonight, and although he has not been anything spectacular this season, he has been consistent; that is what we like when backing a hot team. Flexen has been a Mariner for a few seasons now and feels comfortable with the letters on his chest. Combine that with a mindset, knowing that your guys are swinging the sticks and hungry to win ball games right now, and a good pitcher should dial-in.
Josiah Gray was a top prospect and is still young with plenty of his career ahead of him, but I would not call this a great spot. There is a lack of motivation, and many of those guys are playing like they are just ready for the All-Star break. If they tag Flexen early, the game should be competitive, but if our man can keep them off the board long enough for his guys to take the lead, I expect Washington to roll over.
