What a game we had in St. Louis last night as we all watched on TBS. The Cardinals got a bunch of two-out hits and grew a big lead and withstood the Dodgers' comeback late. It really came down to one inning last night when the Dodgers had the bases loaded and nobody out and Patty Naughton pitched the inning of his life.
He got out of it unscathed (three up, three down) and the Cardinals hung on for a one-run win. Today the Cardinals go for their second four-game winning streak of the season as they haven't had one longer than that while the Dodgers fresh off the seven-game winning streak will try and get right back into it and let's delve deeper and see who will win tonight.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
The All-Star Game is in Hollywood this year. They are saying four different options for the starter but there is really just one. It will be a TRAVESTY if the Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin isn't starting this game. He is the best pitcher on the best team at his home. What else do we need to say? The man is 11-0 with a 1.62 ERA and has a real chance to win 20 games and have no losses.
Also, he is pitching tonight so he will be on full rest for the game next Tuesday which is important when choosing the starter. In sixteen starts this season not once has he given up more than two runs which is amazing in itself.
In his career against the Cardinals, he is 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA in two starts which is another advantage for the Dodgers tonight. We fully expect the bottom of the Dodgers lineup to drive in a run tonight if the bases are loaded with no one out and help Gonsolin not that he needs it usually.
The Cardinals send the old man out tonight. Adam Wainwright has been impressive for a man his age as he is 6-7 with a 3.15 ERA and has kept the Cardinals in most games and is coming off a nine-inning game where he lost 2-0 to Philly as he got no help but pitched a gem. Wainwright has had nine starts where he has given up two runs or less, not as good as Gonsolin but not too shabby. Wainwright is also 7-5 with a 2.66 ERA in seventeen career starts so expect him and Gonsolin to give us an old-fashioned duel and let the bullpens decide it.
Players are hitting just .157 off Gonsolin this year which is sick and this guy is out to prove once and for all he should be the starter for the National League next week in LA. Wainwright had a great start against Philly but for the month of June players hit .302 off him and this is the best offensive lineup in the league tonight. LA was 11-1 before last night's tough loss.
Tonight we feel St. Louis won't get all those clutch hits and the Dodgers won't leave the bases loaded when it matters. Wainwright has thrown over 100 pitches in eight of his last nine but off a nine-inning shutout and the break coming up we feel he will be looking forward to the break a little early.
