MLB Best Bets for Thursday: Rangers vs Mariners, Astros vs Angels
Well, guys, we are approaching the All-Star break quickly here which is crazy to believe. I feel like the season starts slow the first twenty or thirty games of the season or so, and then just like that the break hits. I don’t mind it at all, the second half of the season is where teams start pushing for positioning and try to climb the ranks in the division if they need to do so. Guys are rejuvenated, the motivation is high, and looking at the standings now it is shaping up to be pretty exciting in my opinion.
All five teams in the American League East are above the .500 mark and capable of making the playoffs and honestly four of them could. Wild card spots are going to be a battle but with three this year we will see more squads In the mix. A handful of teams in the other divisions are right around breaking that .500 barrier and entering into the conversation for their chance at a postseason bid while all three divisions in the National League seem to have two top contenders from each that will duke it out.
It should be a great second half of the season and I am stoked for it; I am also just bringing it up to make you all aware of what you are looking at these next few days. There are still plenty of great spots over the next few days and some squads are more motivated than never but watch out for those who are not. Some guys tend to get lackadaisical heading into the break, especially on teams already out of the picture this postseason. Some pitchers tend to do poorly in their final outing before the break as well.
With that said I am going to just dive into two totals this evening I am liking tonight.
Rangers vs. Mariners Start Time, Where to Watch, and Odds
- Date: July 14, 2022

Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners Prediction
The Mariners are red hot right now on an electric ten-game winning streak and are 17-3 across their last twenty. They are surging and the bats are as well. On the other side of this one, we have the Texas Rangers who we love and have been a cash cow for us all season long. They were close to breaking the .500 barrier then dropped a few games over the last week and they do not want to fade further going into the break. I love totals with two southpaws on the mound and I love totals at Globe Life Field. It is hot as hell in Arlington so the roof should be closed and win conditions should not matter. I expect a surging team and a hungry team to put some runs on the board for us here tonight.
Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners Pick

Angels vs. Astros Start Time, Where to Watch, and Odds
- Date: July 14, 2022

The Angels tend to get smoked when Ohtani doesn’t pitch and he did that last night. The total is 4-1 across the last five meetings between the two teams and has hit in the first two games of the series as well. plenty of guys on both teams who can really swing the stick.
Los Angeles Angels vs. Houston Astros Pick
- Houston/Los Angeles o8 -109 (Bet $109 to win $100)
