MLB handicapper Brian Matthews has cooked up a nice parlay for Friday night's slate. Here are his picks for a +1548 longshot best bet.
ANALYSIS

MLB Best Bet (+1548): Nationals-Braves, Blue Jays-Royals, Twins-White Sox, and Cardinals-Reds Longshot Parlay

It’s Friday night, meaning it’s time to dial up another parlay. Let’s stick with the total bases approach for tonight’s play.

There are plenty of solid matchups to target on this Friday night, so let’s dive into this +1548 parlay.  Why not?

Let’s walk through the MLB slate and each leg, and remember, a couple of bucks can go a long way here.

MLB Best Bet: +1548 (Bet $100 to Win $1548)

Austin Riley (ATL) 2 total bases (-115)

Riley might have the hottest bat in all of baseball.  He has at least one hit in his last 10 games and has hit 2 total bases in 8 of his last 10 games.  In his career against Patrick Corbin, he is batting .292 (including 3 singles, 3 doubles, and a home run).  Good enough for me.

Teoscar Hernandez (TOR) 2 total bases (+115)

Hernandez has had the hot bat of late, and on top of that, he’s got a matchup he has dominated against Zack Greinke (batting .714 in 7 plate appearances).  He’s also cleared his total bases line in 4 of his last 6 games.

Jose Abreu (CWS) 2 total bases (+100)

Abreu is another player who has been on a tear.  He has hit 2 total bases in 4 of his last 5 games and 7 of his last 10 games.  He bats .305 off left-handed pitchers, and Devin Smeltzer allows right-handed batters to hit .261 off him.

Nolan Arenado (STL) 2 total bases (+110)

Arenado has a hit in 8 of his last 10 games and has now hit 2 total bases in his last two games.  He goes up against Hunter Greene tonight, and he is 2-3 (.667) off him with a single and a double.  I like this spot for Arenado tonight.
