San Francisco Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers Best Bet: Should We Count on Christian Yelich and the Brewers?
The last day of games before the All-Star break is here. Certain teams may appear sluggish, like how kids don't want to do homework the day before Christmas break. Maybe this is what is happening with the Blue Jays because I have no idea how they are in a position to potentially tie a four-game series against half a Royals team, but here we are. Either way, there are games to bet on, so let's get right to it. I love the Brewers in this spot this afternoon because they cannot afford to come out sluggish by any means.

San Francisco Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
Brewers fans may want to skip this part, but the Brewers are coming off two brutal back-to-back losses. Last night, the Giant's winning run came in on a controversial balk, which gave the Giants the 2-1 lead in the 8th inning. The night prior, the Brewers took a 5-2 lead into the 9th inning and lost 5-8 after a walk-off grand slam by Yastrzemski. Given the tough variance against the Brewers that has resulted in back-to-back losses, I like them to bounce back today.
The Brewers are one of the best teams when playing during the day, sitting in second with a .756 OPS in day games, only behind the Dodgers. It's not just the bats that are better during the day, either, as starting pitcher Aaron Ashby has a 3.93 ERA during day starts and a 4.88 ERA in night starts. Conversely, the Giants play worse in Day games. The batting average, OBP, and OPS are all lower, and starting pitcher Logan Webb also pitches worse in day games. He has a 3.72 ERA in day starts and a 1.15 ERA in night starts. All this to say, the Brewers should have the advantage with this start time.
The Brewers also hit much better against right-handed pitching, partly due to the fact that some of their best bats are lefties. They are hitting .240 against right-handed pitching this season and only .225 against lefty pitching.
Most signs point to the Giants winning this game, given Ashby's struggles on the road and Webb's dominance at home, but I'm going against any hunches today. The Brewers could very well be up 3-0 in this series, and I expect the variance to level itself out today with a Brewers day win in the series closer. The Brewers also have the better bullpen arms overall, and we should see all the top relievers with the break starting tomorrow. Take the Brew crew as dogs.
