2022 Home Run Derby Prediction - Kyle Schwarber vs. Albert Pujols

This one is so random but I strangely see value here. I only see this bet on DraftKings but it’s one of the more popular books so I hope a good amount of you can get this. Schwarber is favored to win the first round at -340 odds, so it feels safe to say that he should advance. If that’s the case he will have more homers therefore, more balls that quality for high exit velocity, it’s simple math.

On the season, we saw Kyle Schwarber in the 97th percentile in exit velocity and Pujols was only in the 66th percentile. Pujols still has some in the tank and is capable of putting on a show but give me the guy who is 13 years younger to swing a faster bat. This bet is perfect. If you win you can brag to your friends after you win. But if it loses, we don’t have to say a word and we can act like it never happened.

I’m a big believer in only betting when we have an edge but if you just throw a small amount of money on this I see no harm. This won’t be an official play for me but it’s fun to have some extra interest watching a competition we were already going to watch. MLB All-Star Weekend is so much fun for the players, lets not feel left out and sit out tonight. Lets not let a 42 year old man out exit velocity Kyle Schwarber here.
