Rodon has had a solid season to this point as he comes into his game with an 8-5 record and an impressive 2.66 ERA. While Rodon’s numbers look good overall, he has struggled a bit more on the road this season. His ERA slightly rises to 3.10 away from home and has four of his five losses on the road as well. Now losses are a very arbitrary statistic as they are not all completely on the pitcher but this shows that the Giants as a whole do not give him adequate run support on the road as compared to at home.

Rodon also lost his earlier start on the road against the Dodgers in a low scoring 3-1 affair in which we were on the dodgers in that game as well. The Giants as a whole this season have been very underwhelming and disappointing compared to their performance last season. They drew in underperform when given respect from the books and see them struggling in this game as well. Many people will see the dodgers as close to a Pk and home and immediately think it’s a sort of trap line but that’s just how good and how dominant Rodon has been this season.

The Dodgers will start Mitch White who has been a spot starter and the 5th guy in their rotation but he has been more than serviceable this year, especially at home. In his last two starts at home, he has only given up one earned run in nearly 11 innings and really pitched well against the Padres in a similar spot as this where the Dodgers were short favorites facing an ace in Joe Musgrove.

I think we will see a similar type of game tonight and see the dodgers jumping out to an early lead behind a strong performance from White. Rodon has excellent stiff but he does have a tendency to walk many hitters and get behind in counts and an experienced dodgers lineup should be able to take advantage of this. With that being said, I am rolling with Dodgers F5 ML at -107 and Dodgers Full Game ML at -122 for 1U each as my most confident MLB Picks of the night.
