Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians Prediction

The Cleveland Guardians will travel to the south side of Chicago on Friday night for an affair with the White Sox. These two are looking to dethrone the Minnesota Twins for the American League Central in the second half of the season.

The Sox were a heavy favorite coming into the season to win the AL Central, but the Twins were able to fend them off for the first half of the season. Cleveland surprised many with a good first half of the year that included them being at the top of the division for a period of time.

Cleveland does not have many big names in their lineup that scare you, but they were one of the better teams in baseball when it came to two-out RBIs. Their pitching was solid for the most part, and they will look to continue that in the second half of the season.

Chicago did not have a good first half of the year, and they will look to go on a run in the second half. This is a team that many, including me, believe will right the ship. The Sox have one of the most talented lineups in baseball and a top-level pitching staff.

Lucas Giolito gets the rock tonight for the Sox. Giolito did not have a great first half, but this guy has been an All-Star before and has top-level stuff. The Sox need him to bounce back in the second half, starting with a great start tonight. He will be opposed by Cal Quantrill, who gets the ball for the Guardians looking to get them off to a good start. 

I am backing the Sox on the moneyline tonight. This is a no-brainer for me as I give them a large advantage tonight on the mound. I am extremely confident in Giolito and that he will control this Guardians lineup tonight. Quantrill has not proven to me that he can shut down lineups like the Sox, and I believe they get to him early and often. I have this line closer to -200, so we will be all over this game tonight. Let’s start the second half of the season with a bang!
