I honestly think there is some really great value here in the total on this one today as we once again are getting a really low line on two quality offensive teams. I love low totals just about any time I can get them and justify them. We already cashed in on one at 6.5 earlier in the week and I see a great spot with this one set at 7.5 here today. Let's get into my prediction, pick, and odds for the Mets vs Padres.

New York Mets vs San Diego Padres Prediction
Both San Diego and New York play defensively sound baseball and have relatively good pitching, that is why this total is set so low. We could see two great games here from these arms but I don’t see it based on historical numbers and what they have done this season.
Blake Snell takes the bump for the Friars sporting a 5.22 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and 1-5 record this year. The Mets hit southpaws fine but they are particularly better against Blake Snell; the expected slashline I am seeing here is .282/.364/.496 and I am all about that. The Padres have hit Chris Bassitt well before and should look to stay hot against the Mets tonight. Other than last night's 4-1 game the previous four games against each other saw seven or more runs and three of those games easily entered double digits.
The Mets have dropped four of five to the Padres and you simply just have to believe they are going to get hungry tonight and try to get a game back on their own field here. As long as both sides put up a few runs in the first five or six Innings on these starters I think we'll end up on the right side of this look here tonight.
