The Padres took the first two games as underdogs and find themselves in the same spot tonight. The Padres look like they will be a playoff team as they await the return of their superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. The Mets have been in first place in the NL East all season long, but that lead is in jeopardy as they enter play tonight. What was once a double-digit lead is now just a half-game lead for the Mets over the defending Champions, the Atlanta Braves.
The Mets will look to salvage the series tonight and turn things around. We should see some good pitching on display as Joe Musgrove gets the ball for the Padres. He will be opposed by former all-star Carlos Carasco, who gets the ball for the Mets tonight.
